Overview
The Red River Valley Writing Project (RRVWP) offers Community Project funds of up to $2,000/application to all RRVWP teacher consultants on an annual basis.  Funding criteria and awards are determined through a review process completed by the RRVWP Director, Co-Directors, and Outreach Coordinator.

Proposals for the RRVWP Community Project must address one of more of the following goals:

to promote the professional development of RRVWP teacher consultants and others involved in the community project.

to enhance the visibility of the RRVWP among schools, teachers, and/or communities in the areas you serve

to document the work of the RRVWP, its teachers, and/or service area so that the teaching of and power of writing is better understood by the public

to foster interaction and collegiality among teacher consultants

Obligations of the Community Project Recipients
Community Project progress reports are due by June 30, 2009 and final reports are due by October 31, 2009.  Recipients are also expected to share projects, models and lessons learned from their work in the form of a workshop, oral report, or product (such as a book or video).  RRVWP team members will help recipients determine the best venue for such sharing.  Recipients will be asked to write a final report that highlights how the community project experience has helped participants grow as professionals.
